Cats in my life... (more pictures to come)

As some of you may know, we lost Nigel to cancer in 2003 - June 24th to be exact. He was around 14 years and 4 months old. I love Nigel more than any words can ever express, and I think of him often. Our lives haven't been the same without him.

Since early July, Jim has been telling me (constantly) about a coworker with kittens he's looking to give away. While I wasn't totally sure I was ready to get a new cat, I finally agreed to meet the kittens. There were three of them - one was white with black & brown and he was very feisty, one was brownish-black and very friendly, and the other was black with white splotches (Jim says the coloring looks like a cow) and he was very laid-back. Jim couldn't leave without the black kitty, and I was taken by the "cow" kitty mainly because of his temprament but it didn't hurt that he was so freakin' cute!! So we took them both home.

Orson is the black one, and Emmett is the black & white one. They were about 8 weeks old when we got them on 9-August-03. Here are a few pictures of all the kitties.

By the way, you might notice the cats are sleeping in many of the pictures. Obviously that's what cat's do best, it's when they're the cutest, and with a pair of kittens it's the easiest way to get their picture. I hope to have more awake pictures as they get older.
